    Located near the beautiful and geologically significant Hemlock Falls near Butler Ohio, the Mohican Outdoor School Field Trip Center offers a unique setting for get-togethers. The recently completed Field Trip Center provides up-to-date meeting facilities in an environment-friendly location. From its floor-to-ceiling windows to its wraparound porch, the building invites you to be a part of the natural beauty around it.     Rental Rates:

    Business meetings:
    (8:00 a.m. until 10 p.m.) $100/day, Monday through Friday
    $125/day, Saturday and Sunday
    (8:00 a.m. until 4 p.m). $75/day, Monday through Friday
    Evening meetings:
    (4:00 p.m. until 10 p.m.) $50/day, Monday through Friday
    Reunions, Family Get-Togethers:
    (8:00 a.m. until 11 p.m.) $125/day
    Guided Hemlock Falls Tour: $25 (if MOS staff available)
    5% discount if schedule 2 or more days

    The facility will be clean upon your arrival. Tables and chairs will be available (you can arrange as you like). Please note that there is NO SMOKING in the building. The following paragraph explains the care and handling of the Field Trip Center.

    CONDITIONS OF USE (from rental agreement)

    The Field Trip Center was built through the hard work and generous contributions of many people. In order to make this unique facility available for the public to use at a reasonable cost, we need your cooperation. Below are the conditions which must be met in order to use this facility.

  • A Mohican Outdoor School staff person will greet you and show you the facility upon your arrival.You will go over the rental agreement to be sure that all your requests have been met.
  • The facility is to be left as you find it. If chairs and tables are rearranged, they must be returned to their original locations.
  • Clean and replace any and all kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Chairs should not be carried away from building.
  • No fires or cooking on porch.
  • Use only fire wood provided - Do not carry wood from woods for fire.
  • Separate recyclable trash from non-recyclable trash and put it in the appropriate containers. (They are labeled.) Food waste such as you would put in a compost pile (such as banana peels, apple cores, bread) are to be put in the self-composting toilets. NO meat products or bones please.
  • No items can be taped, nailed or tacked into the walls. (There is a large bulletin board which is available. Placement of decorations must be approved by management. All decorations must be removed when the event is over.
  • No smoking is permitted in the building. There are ash cans outside the building. Please make sure that your guest put their cigarette butts in those containers and not elsewhere on the grounds.
  • The self-composting toilet uses no chemicals. Waste is composted in the equipment below the toilets. The type of food items listed above can be put in the toilet. No cigarettes, plastics, bottles, cans or sanitary products can be put in the self-composting toilet!
  • Please be certain that all personal items are removed from the Field Trip Center before you leave. MOS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • You will be given a staff person’s name and number should you have any questions or problems during your event.
  • Some types of events require the renter to provide insurance. The renter shall be legally responsible for all claims by a person or persons filing claims for any personal injury, property damage or loss on school grounds or in the Field Trip Center during the period the facilities are being rented. In such cases the renter will provide Certificate of Public Liability Insurance on a Comprehensive General Liability Form to the Mohican School in the Out-Of-Doors within two working days prior to the date of the event. Said insurance shall be not less than $250,000-$500,000, which includes $100,000 property damage insurance.
  • The renter, in consideration of the use of the Field Trip Center, does hereby agree to protect, indemnify and hold harmless Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors, Inc., from and against any claim, demand, cause of action or injury arising out of the use by renter of the Field Trip Center, such indemnification to include payment of reasonable counsel fees and expenses.
